- The Borromeo Islands are world-famous: the Isola Bella with its enchanting Italian palace and garden; the Isola Madre , famous for its beautiful botanical garden, made so special by the island's mild climate; and the picturesque Isola dei Pescatori for buying small souvenirs or for a lunch break with a breathtaking view. Reachable by the public boats of Navigazione Lago maggiore or by taxi boats.
- In Verbania, you can visit another botanical garden of incomparable beauty, that of Villa Taranto, which in every season offers different landscapes thanks to its countless botanical species, some of which are unique in Europe.
- For mountain enthusiasts, there are countless destinations to consider: Val Formazza, home to Europe's highest waterfall, the Cascata del Toce. Valle Vigezzo (Vigezzo Valley), renowned for the school of painters it created in the past. Macugnaga, at the foot of Monte Rosa, is known for being a Walser colony and it is still possible to get an idea of their ancient culture by visiting the Walser Museum.
- The Mount Mottarone straddles Lakes Maggiore and Orta. From the summit, the view sweeps from the Alps to the Po Valley, to the scenery of the Seven Lakes. A unique landscape not to be missed
