Fishing on the Lake

Fishing on Lake Mergozzo - Season 2025

If you are a foreign citizen and wish to fish in Lake Mergozzo in 2025, there are a few things you need to know.

First of all, you will need to obtain the TYPE D LICENSE, which costs € 14.00 and is valid for 3 months. Minors under 14 years of age and people with disabilities are exempt from payment. You can make the payment through the PAGOPA SYSTEM using a credit card or home banking. After paying, you will be able to download the payment receipt. Additionally, you will also need to pay for the MUNICIPAL LICENSE, which can also be done through the PAGOPA SYSTEM. Be sure to follow the instructions on the Municipality of Mergozzo’s portal to complete the payment. Fishing rates vary depending on the type of license you choose, such as daily, weekend, or weekly, and there are different options depending on whether you wish to fish from the shore or from a boat. Remember that there are also rules regarding minimum fishing sizes and closed seasons for certain species. Finally, don't forget to bring an ID document and the payment receipts when you go fishing, in case of checks by the competent authorities. Happy fishing! 

 

The provisions for the year 2025 regarding recreational fishing establish that foreign citizens are required to: 

  • Pay an amount of € 14.00 for the TYPE D LICENSE (depending on age) to be paid to the Piedmont Region.

The license is valid for 3 months. Please note that minors under 14 years of age and people with disabilities are exonerated from paying for the license. The payment of the fee must be made via the PAGOPA SYSTEM using a credit card or home banking. Please follow the link to proceed with the request.

  1. Select "Rilascio licenza di pesca," then click on the "Estera" button.
  2. Fill in the blanks with surname, name, and email, and select "Licenza di tipo D – Dilettantistica per stranieri."
  3. Then follow the instructions to make the payment.

Once the payment is completed, you will be able to download the payment receipt.

  • Pay the required amount for the MUNICIPAL LICENSE (MERGOZZO) in a single payment through the PAGOPA SYSTEM.

Please access the portal of the Municipality of Mergozzo and follow the link to proceed with the request. Please note that minors under 14 years of age and people with disabilities are exempt from paying for the license.

  1. Click on the button "Pagamento Spontaneo".
  2. In the field “(*) Servizio”, select "Diritti di pesca."
  3. In the field“(*) causale pagamento”, write the date of use and the type of tariff you have chosen. Example: “11/04/25 Daily from the shore.”
  4. In the field “(*) Importo”, enter the amount you need to pay. Example: “7.00.”
  5. Leave selected the field “Persona Fisica”.
  6. Enter “Surname (Cognome),” “Name (Nome),” “Tax Code (Codice Fiscale)”: 9999999999999999, “Address (Indirizzo),” “Civic No. (N. Civico,” “Country (Località)”: for example, GREAT BRITAIN, “Postal Code (CAP)”: 00000, “Province (Prov.)”: 00, “Email”: be careful to enter the correct email (as it will be required during payment).
  7. Click "Non sono un Robot" and then "Prosegui." 
  8. The “Dati Riepilogativi” screen will display important codes for making the payment: Clicking on “PAGA ORA” will redirect you to the online PagoPA payment via Credit Card/Paypal or Satispay.
  9. Clicking on “STAMPA AVVISO” generates the payment slip to pay at the Post Office or tobacconist.

It is also possible to save the codes with a screenshot and pay at a later time, by clicking “Pagamento Atteso,” entering the IUV code, and proceeding with the PagoPA online payment via Credit Card/Paypal or Satispay.

Clicking on “PAGA ORA” will redirect you to the PagoPA online payment page, where you can select your preferred language (German, English, or French) and follow the instructions to make the payment, choosing from several options, including CREDIT CARD, PAYPAL, and SATISPAY.

Once the payment is completed, you will be able to download the payment receipt. 

 

TARIFFS FOR THE MUNICIPALITY OF MERGOZZO:

  • DAILY FROM THE SHORE – €7.00: This allows the holder to fish only from the shores of Lake Mergozzo and is valid only for the requested day until midnight (12:00 pm).
  • WEEKEND FROM THE SHORE – €18.00: This allows the holder to fish only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until midnight (12:00 pm) from the shores of Lake Mergozzo.
  • WEEKLY FROM THE SHORE – €30.00: This allows the holder to fish for 7 consecutive days only from the shores of Lake Mergozzo.
  • DAILY FROM A BOAT – €20.00: This allows the holder to fish from both the shores of Lake Mergozzo and Carp fishing, as well as from a boat or other vessel or life preserver. It is valid for the requested day until midnight (12:00 pm).
  • WEEKEND FROM A BOAT – €40.00: This allows the holder to fish only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until midnight (12:00 pm) from the shores of Lake Mergozzo and from a boat or other vessel or life preserver.
  • WEEKLY FROM A BOAT – €50.00: This allows the holder to fish for 7 consecutive days from both the shore and from a boat or other vessel, including a life preserver, only on the shores of Lake Mergozzo.

At the Info Point of the Campsite or at the Reception, a booklet for recording catches related to fishing in the lake will be provided.

In case of a check by the competent authorities to verify the legitimate exercise of fishing, you must have, in addition to the payment receipts for the various fees, an ID document to show.
